We had to be in Haverfordwest late this afternoon so while there we watched the Pied Wagtails coming into their roost at Withybush. We probably missed some birds that could have arrived from the north, where our view was obscured by buildings but, by 17:00 hrs, an estimated 500-550 had settled at their usual roost site before it got too dark to see further arrivals.

What is amazing about this picture, is that the new camera can get acceptable photos even when it is nearly dark – the advantage of a full-frame sensor with ‘only’ 24.5 MP.
